Centric Data Services: Excel Add-In
Centric’s Excel add-in enables users to pull data directly from Centric into Excel while retaining a verified, non-editable status. If you opt to use the Excel add-in, you will be provided with a Windows Installer File (.msi) for Centric Data Services.
Note: the Excel add-in is compatible with Windows 7 through 10, Excel 2010 through 2016, Centric 2.0, and Centric Analytics (standalone).
Installing the Add-In
After installing the Centric Data Services (.msi) file, you will be prompted to enable the add-in when loading Excel for the first time. To verify the add-in is installed, navigate to the ‘File’ menu in Excel, select ‘Options’, and then ‘Add-ins’. You should also see CENTRIC DATA SERVICES as an available tab in the Excel Ribbon.
Configuring the Excel Add-In
Now you’re ready to configure the add-in to connect with your instance of Centric. To do this, select ‘Settings’ under the CENTRIC DATA SERVICE tab in the Excel Ribbon.
Once you’ve selected ‘Settings’ from the CENTRIC DATA SERVICE tab, you will be prompted to include the address of the desired Centric instance (http://). Depending on your organizations Centric configuration, you can select ‘Windows Authentication’ or ‘Basic Authentication’ prior to logging in with your credentials.
Once connected, select ‘Add’ under the CENTRIC DATA SERVICE tab to access the available data service views.
You can now select from the list of available data service views, including start and end dates for each. Once you’ve selected your preferred parameters, click ‘OK’ to continue.
Managing Existing Views from the Add-In
Once the data is imported, you will have the option to manage, refresh, and add additional data service views via the CENTRIC DATA SERVICE tab. You can also edit the current view source and parameters here as well.
