Centric’s Desktop feature affords users quick access to information relative to their role in the form of an interactive homepage. Centric Desktop incorporates various data from across Centric; forms, analytics, folders, iFrames, and more, making it easier than ever to navigate through the Centric environment.
This walkthrough will outline the steps required when configuring a desktop in Centric 2.0.
Creating a Desktop
Desktops will be kept under the ‘Desktop’ tab on the main navigation menu. In this example, there are no desktops created or shared with this user. To create a new desktop, select ‘New’ in the upper right corner of the screen:
Once selected, you will be prompted to input a name for your desktop:
The desktop is now created, albeit blank, and ready to be configured. Selecting ‘Edit’ in the top right corner will allow you to start adding various components that are available to you:
Editing a Desktop
Upon selecting ‘Edit’, you will notice a UI change signifying the shift in available functionality. This view will allow you to select components from data housed within Centric, including existing dashboards, forms, and more. You can even create folders, insert HTML and iFrames, add Job triggers, and more.
You can now see below that some customizations around form management have been added, and that adding new components is a simple drag-and-drop function that prompts a selection from the user:
When finished, select ‘Save’ in the top right corner. Your newly created desktop is now available for consumption and sharing:
Desktops can be edited, copied, or deleted at any time by users with the appropriate permissions. Live components such as dashboards and KPIs will be refreshed every few minutes automatically.
